Well I just got back from a self dog wash place called Mud Puppies. I would have brought my camera, but it probably would not have worked by the end of the bath due to water damage. Anyway Ggoody got a bath and smells great especially after a long hike two days ago (swimming included), days at the dog park, and sadly a seizure that happened in her kennel. (If I have not mentioned on my blog, Ggoody does have epilepsy which started about a year ago. She has a seizure about once a month.)
Anyway, Mud Puppies is a self dog wash place combined with a doggy daycare and professional grooming. We did the self dog wash and it was a ton of fun. They have a non-slip ramp that the dog walks up to get to the grooming platform which then leads to the bathtub.
It took some coaxing to get Ggoody in the tub, but once she was in she was fine. They also have these tie downs that keeps your dog from jumping out of the tub and off the grooming platform. In fact tie downs are everywhere at this place. Very convenient I must say! After her bath, we towel dried her and brushed her. Then we used the fur dryer. I was hesitant that Ggoody would be afraid, but she handled it like a pro. I was very impressed with how clean the establishment was as well as how easy it was to groom Ggoody. They also provide all of the supplies such as shampoo, brushes, towels, etc. Of course you are welcome to bring your own supplies if you wish. We will definitely be heading back especially during the winter months.
Here is the link to Mud Puppies if you want more information. I highly recommend this place, of course if you don't live in the Austin area look around in your area and try a self service dog wash. It is worth it!

Cool. We have a place like that. Ellie hates the blow drier thing so you are very lucky Ggoody didn't mind it. If you blow them from the tail to head it makes them very fluffy! :D
