Happy 4th Birthday Ggoody!

Today is Ggoody's 4th birthday. I can't believe four years have gone by. Wow time really does fly when you are having fun. It's weird cause now I can see a small amount of grey coming in on her muzzle and she's only 28 in human years! I took some pictures of Ggoody's day. Enjoy!

When I came home from school I made Ggoody's favorite treat: a peanut butter/kibble filled kong.

Ggoody eagerly waiting for her treat.

Ggoody enjoying her kong.

Then later we went a long walk. I stopped by some really pretty flowers to get some pictures of the birtday girl. Of course she wouldn't look at the camera the one day I really want her too. Silly dog!

Excuse me. My name is Meg, and this is my first time visiting your blog. I saw that Ggoody has a sibling named Gganci, and Ggoody is from the TSA Canine Breeding and Development Center. I fostered Gganci for a short time, until my father returned her, and I don't know what happened to her since. She is a black lab with brown eyes, like Ggoody. What does CC'd mean? I'm hoping to find out what has happend to her. Sorry for the long post, and thank you.

Hi Meg! It is nice to hear from a fellow TSA Puppy Raiser. Did you foster Gganci a few years ago? Ggoody is now four years old, so I was just checking because I know they sometimes reuse names and I want to make sure we have the same Gganci. :) If so, I can try and find out where Gganci is now for you. As for CC'd, it means career changed or meaning the dog was released from the training program due to either behavorial or medical reasons. It is actually a Guide Dogs for the Blind term, but I felt it appropriately fit what happened to each dog since technically they are no longer in their destined field of work. Have you fostered any other TSA dogs since? If so what are the names of your other dogs? Thanks for commenting!

Thenk you! I fostered her four years ago, and she has the same birthday as Ggoody, april 12th, 2006.It'd be so nice if you could find out, I've been wandering for so long. I was 10 back then, and Gganci broke my father's lawn mower and he returned her. I haven't fostered after that because my father won't let me, but I'd love to foster some more TSA dogs. They're all so nice! And thank you for explaining. :)

Wow what a small world! The TSA dogs have a ton of drive and lots of energy to burn and will choose to destroy anything even in a small window of opportunity. Ggoody actually put a hole in one of our couches and almost destroyed a quilt. After that it was more crate time for her! I just checked through my old PawPrint Newsletters and it says that Gganci is now living as a loving pet and was adopted by a loving family. I don't know any specifics about the family, but I know Diana and the staff do an excellent job placing the dogs and take a lot of care to make sure each dog goes to a great home. I hope this helps! If you ever get the chance to raise another dog you should. I know they recently placed another litter here in Austin, however I wasn't able to take one because I am headed off to college this fall. The program is always in need of volunteers. Again thanks for commenting, it was great to hear from someone who fostered one of Ggoody's siblings.
