I have to say I completely love GDB (not that I didn't before), but now I know why so many people continue to be a part of this great organization.
Today I went to volunteer as a "gate watcher". A neighborhood pool was shutting down for the year and invited all pups in training, as well as career changed dogs, guides, and retirees. I helped make sure that no dogs escaped while people entered or exited. It was really fun and the dogs were so sweet! Some of the pups that I saw were: Spruce (male golden retriever), Chet (male black lab), Covey (male black lab), Tatum (female black lab), Hugo (male yellow lab), and Macaroon (female yellow lab/golden mix, I think). I hope I spelled their names right!
I had a great time talking with another woman helped guard the gate with me. Overall I really enjoyed the experience. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I cannot wait to attend my first official meeting.

Glad you had fun! Jorinda isn't a big water dog, so we didn't make the trip down to the pool this year. Chet is in my (or our?) club! :) Can't wait to meet you!
Covey is my Clyde's litter mate! It's cool that you saw him. :)
GDB is awesome, and I think I might be stuck puppy raising for a long time.
Macaroon is a female golden lab cross (3/4 golden 1/4 lab) she is medford the puppy i raised sister
